These are the same balls that Vladik used to win the gold medal in the 1995 Juniors and 1997 Seniors IJA championship competitions. This is also the same style ball that has been used for generations by many other famous Russian jugglers.
Many jugglers, both beginning and advanced, prefer to juggle beanbags due to the reluctance of the beanbags to roll away when dropped. For the same reason, beanbags are the "ball" of choice for most numbers jugglers as well. However, although beanbags are fine for practice and numbers, they lack the polished look and feel of a good stage ball - the leading choice of most professional jugglers. Our Russian Juggling Balls combine the best of both worlds; they have the solid look and feel stage balls yet they act like beanbags when dropped! These balls are made of plastic and filled with sand, which greatly improves the handling and performance of the balls. When the ball is thrown, the sand evenly disperses throughout the ball, forming a nice round shape. When the ball comes back into the hand the sand compresses making the balls very easy to catch. This style ball gives you much more positive control over traditional beanbags or hollow stage balls. And at three inches in diameter they are big enough for visibility on almost every stage but still small enough for numbers juggling. Just like our awesome Russian Clubs, each and every set of balls is custom made with the optimal weight to suit your needs.
